Welcome to alanoca.net, We introduce you to topics related to international economics, trade agreements, negotiations, economic development, and others in the context of the WTO (World Trade Organization) and the European Union (EU). It also includes topics related to institutional reform, investment promotion, training, commodity, and mineral markets.

Most of these themes are practical and information oriented and have been presented at conferences, seminars and workshops aimed at executives from government, industrial, banking, and civil society. Other topics falling outside of the strictly economic field are part of my curiosities, impressions, and conversations.

I am an Economic and Trade Advisor with more than 30 years of international experience as a director, advisor, and consultant of cooperation projects for organizations such as the EU, UNIDO, ADB, DFIC, ITT/UNCTAD-WTO, WB, and international consulting firms. 

It is understood that such professional role goes beyond work. Evolving in the international market and development field is challenging and interesting, punctuated by meetings with ministers, executives and policy decision-makers from various countries, ideologies, and cultures. As director or consultant, we oversee solving problems related to economic, trade and investment reforms, and suggesting the most suitable direction to Ministres, senior government, commercial, economic, or private sector executives. It is worth telling you that working in such varied cultural contexts is pleasant and fascinating where unexpected situations often happen. I will be happy to share personal anecdotes that have stroke me most throughout my different years of experience.

I have a PhD in International Economics and Development from Sorbonne University in Paris, with experiences in more than sixty countries.
